We have made provision to control the B800 variometer MacCready?, bugs, ballast settings from the PDA/PNA/flight computer without using our controller display module. This makes a very low cost, easy to install system and if a Flarm is installed this can provide GPS data and aircraft target data to the flight computer. With the new V1 PNA sunlight readability has come to the PNA devices at last (besides the out of production Dell Streak 5") making them a very attractive option.

In order to avoid yet another protocol for control of the B800 we used the CAI302 protocol.

we do need bugs and ballast control enabled which I'm told isn't so currently.

Do you want a test build to verify the feature? If yes, say which target. We don't have a B800 to test with.

Hi Guys,

We have a B800 simulator for Windows PCs that acts like B800 serial I/O. There's a readme file also. All in the B800 Sim zip file from our website.
www.borgeltinstruments.com go to software and the B800 stuff is at the top.

Windows mobile devices is our first preference for now. I've got a V1 on order.

Let me know of any problems with the sim please. Probably best to email directly as well as post here.

Does the ballast and bugs implementation of the CAI inputs allow for B50(same as B500 and B800)output settings at the same time?

Mike, I responded to your email last week, asking for the source code of the simulator. I don't have Windows, and your simulator fails to run on WINE.
