Description
Sirs, IMHO the wind arrow is often difficult to see on the map. Also reported to mix with FLARM trafic. How about having an infobox, with a clear graphical symbol, showing the wind direction? Pointing DOWN : Wind from NORTH, etc. If wind speed can be combined into the same graphic as a colored bar or something easily readable, would be perfect!

I like the idea very much. I'll see what I can do... I'm not sure though if it should be based on north, or on the same direction as the map. Any ideas?!

Milestone, u r right, the arrow (or other type symbol that works well) should be relative to the map directions. I always use north-up map, otherwise I feel that I'm getting lost...
BTW in the thermal assistant, a simple line indicating wind direction (rotates...) could also be useful.

I am also not entirely happy with the wind symbol however the current solution has the advantage that it directly points to the center of the glider symbol and therefore provides a precise visual cue of the wind vector influence on the glider.
