Description (last modified by arneh) (diff)
Often my Ipaq 3630 gets too hot and stops responding in the air. I have to reset it and restart XCSoar. Unfortunately, all current task statistics and calculations are gone. This is especially painful on AAT tasks, when after reset I am practically blind without any help from XCSoar. It would be nice, if XCSoar was recording all important flight information that it keeps in memory, so it could be immediately accessed when restarted.
The most important data elements are:
- task start time
- achieved turnpoints in AAT tasks
I think the best solution would be to read the IGC log file and restore from it all required information.

Thanks for asking for this function! My ticket #1222 is the same.

Android can kill any process not being in the foreground (if only for a second) by design. A solution of this ticket would be a good way to make the Android support complete.
Simply pressing home button, or encountering an incoming call or alarm almost always closes the app and looses the start time of ongoing flight (on Android). Some kind of computer is mission critical for AAT competition tasks, so this makes XCSoar on Android difficult to recommend for such flights. I hope this gets priority.
