Description (last modified by Turbo) (diff)
hi...
during long straight flights a compass(heading-sysstem)-assisted wind-calc
would be very useful in oder to get a correct wind-indication even if not
circling for a longer time or during mountain-flights where the wind may change
quite often, depending on the topology.
there are compass-heading-systems available that transmit the information to
external devices using nmea-sentences.
e.g. http://www.yachtbits.com/nasa/nmea_compass_sensor.php .
the nmea-datastream could then be multiplexed into the nmea-datastream of the
logger, vario or flarm.
a nmea-multiplexer is available at
http://www.k6-team.de/content/view/62/62/
i'm pretty sure hans or falk from the k6team would assist you if you need any
support concerning the nmea-multiplexer... just drop them a mail... they are
really nice guys a know a lot about this stuff.
if you have any questions, just contact me via email.
keep up the great work.
cheers...
danny

Useless unless you have an airspeed indicator also corrected to TAS.
Are there any tilt/roll compasses available for aircraft use that aren't part of a full AHRS?
