Description (last modified by Turbo) (diff)
Gliding commission of Poland inteds to implement Event marker for national
events. Would it be possible to create Event Marker in your software (or maybe
it already has one) as pilots utilize PDA's as a backup loggers. Uncerified
instruments are acceptable as a backup during our nationals.

Hello!!!
Event Marker. It should place E record in file as per IGC spec. It
records button pushed or a combination of buttons pressed by pilot and
that's all. This allows to declare a start. When someone is not
flying by himself, but following other gliders he never knows if they
are bluffing a start line crossing or not. The interval between two
declared starts can be defined in local regulations and after one
start line crossing and E marker pressed you have to wait 15 minutes
(or more as in rules) before you can declare another start without
time penalty. I can't give you a detailed rules but it has not been
set in Poland as yet. E marker is described in IGC sporting code3a
position 7.4.5. The gliding commission of Poland decided to ask first
if it is possible to have E marker in most popular software.

- Priority changed from high to normal
- Version 5.0.9 Beta deleted
- Milestone set to Release 6.0 Alpha
I think writing the E Record shouldn't be a problem and as far as it doesn't disturb seeyou or strepla all that much I think we should have that as a default.
Possible events that could/should be logged:
FIN - (Task) Finish
OAn - Other Aircraft (from Flarm) (n = 1...255)
ONT - On Task (?)
PEV - Pilot Event (Dropping a marker)
STA - (Task) Start
TPC - Turn Point Confirmation (Turning at a turnpoint)

Do you mean that a pilot event marker should be placed in the IGC file when the
start line is crossed? What should this event marker write?
